Ky's birthday pancakes were sloppy, but atleast the tradition continued.
So we drove about 25 miles before we figured out that we needed enough gas to go for about 200 miles because we would not be anywhere near gas or groceries again, but we only had about 70miles worth. We had to turn around and get gas and then start our day again. ):

This is a unique national park because you have to hike 1 1/2 miles to the visitor center.
Once we got there, it was pretty normal: exhibits, dress-up, etc.
We explored the ruins of the fort.
This signal mirror was used to communicate from this remote location using morse code.
We had the ranger all to ourselves to explain the historical significance, stories that happened here, and answer all our questions!
We took the "back" way back. This involved a little more uphill, but was really pretty. You can see the trailer in the distance in the center of the photo.
Next up... a 45 minute drive on mostly dirt roads pulling the trailer! (: Should be an adventure!
