With the "dinner and a show" finished, we headed over to Canyon Village. We enjoyed the exhibits in the visitor center and caught a movie about the geology of Yellowstone.
Then we explored the North Rim of The Grand Canyon of Yellowstone including taking the Red Rock Trail down to see the Falls (which added a few thousand steps and 15 floors down and 15 floors up of hiking to our day).
We continued along the north rim to inspiration point. Then we hopped in the car to head to artist point on the South rim where we could get a better look at the lower falls.
On our drive home we came upon a animal-induced traffic jam, where all the cars going in both directions came to a complete stop waiting for bison to cross the street. The bison, however, did not want to cross the street, they only wanted to stand in the middle of the street in front of the cars. There were a ton of them, and it was really fun to watch, especially because of all the mother bison with their new baby calves.
It was a long that really enjoyable day. The sun setting late again gave us opportunities to see and do more, but when we got home it was 11 PM (!!!) and everybody was ready for bed.
