Fort Abraham Lincoln and Mandan Village - 8/15

On the hill overlooking the cavalry post is the infantry post. 
One of three blockhouses offering spectacular views. 
Right I the Little Missouri River, you can see the cavalry post below. 
And a view of the Capitol building we'll visit tomorrow. Tallest building in Northh Dakota and tallest state Capitol in the USA. 
Post cemetery, graves from the 1870s

Mandan Indian Village
Earthen homes built in the slanting hillsides. 
Ky warming by the fire. 
Toward the ceremonial hut. Significantly larger, but you can barely tell from outside. 
And the next morning we went back...
