cc practicum

i thought it would be fun to offer a practicum for homeschooling moms in our area. there was none being offered in orange county and this past week we made it happen. tons of work, but a really great opportunity to equip parents to homeschool classically.
the kids had a blast at their day camp for 3 days. jojo was in speech camp, the kik & ky were in geo-draw camp (geography & drawing!), and sy was in play camp. this was their first time going to a day camp setting and they all did well. (in the past, i've attended while the kids stayed with scott or other family).

another golf week!

all 4 kids are golfing this week. it's a treat for sy who is participating for the first time - instead of watching. amazingly, the kids can start the class at 2 or 3 and there are some smaller than sy in his little group. but i thought it might be irresponsible to entrust my little guy with golf clubs too early! he is doing great - but i think that he needed to wait and watch the olders do it and want it. so fun to watch him out there, driving, putting, chipping, and carrying the precious little bag with itty-bitty clubs!

big bear bronco bash

scott's annual trip... we really visited our friends the grieco family for a few days. (seriously, they are so gracious to host us when we give them 24hrs to 5minutes notice!) scott took the boys out in the bronco while ky & i "shopped" for houses. do we wanna live in big bear? do we wanna live here just for the winter and play in the snow? can scott commute this far for a short time? hmmm...
while we were there, they showed us a nest they found in their garage. (so much more fun having just studied the flying creatures that God made on the 5th day!)

soccer tournament

WOW! jojo just participated in his first soccer tournament. grandma & grandpa were in town too! it was quite an experience - 6 games in 3 days. this was a great opportunity for jo because he was asked to sub in and play for an accomplished team that had a couple players out of town. he enjoyed the experience even though it was tough to rise up in level of play AND number of games in such a short period of time. still the team took 3rd and we are proud of jo for his hard work!
