Frankfort, KY - Capitol #42


The Kentucky Capitol is one of my favorites. It was beautiful, but now overdone, and it was functional, with all three branches of government under one roof.  
Lincoln (born in Kentucky) is in the center of the rotunda with Jeff Davis in the background. 
Henry Clay is also off to one side. 
The governor's office is a nice working area. 
All offices are off this central hall. The murals at the top were in the original plans, but they ran out of money and dedicated the Capitol in 1910 without them. Only recently were they added, paid for by private gift money, using the original artists drawings. 

The Supreme Court was in season just last week and we missed it. ):
- in this beautiful Honduran mahogany room.   
State reception room used by the governor and for other state functions.
