Everyone came out to see the huge fire trucks that responded when out neighbors had a small cooking fire that really just resulted in a LOT of smoke but no fire damage.

Our nearest truck was unavailable so we got the brush rig from the canyon (our 2nd nearest station) and the ladder truck from the next city over. Both pretty huge vehicles!

We've had a lovely weekend to ourselves as the boys went to the Trail Life Warrior Games.

Pastries

So last week, Ky walked up to Scott after futsal and said, "Can we have ice cream for dinner?"

Another dad who plays with Scott was so entertained that she would ask that. He replied, "How about cake?" And she let him know she prefers pastries. 

So tonight, a week later, he shows up with pastries for our whole family to have for "dinner" after practice. (:

He told the kids they're always such cheerful helpers that he was happy to treat them. 

I can't play a game with this hair!

Kik refused to play a real game with his hair long and I didn't have time to take him to get it cut, so he took himself. He rode his bike to the local shop and paid for himself and showed up at his game  (directly after Jo's that I was watching ) and played really well! Maybe it's the haircut.

Relaxing after a scary 30 minutes of trying to find jo & ky who rode bikes to the park and were waiting for us at the front entrance while we were at the back.

But they did the right thing and found a phone to call us. So, I still don't need to get my kids cell phones, right? 

Later we got to catch a movie and dinner on our own. (:

Each week ky sets up her classroom.  We arrive early because Challenge classes start earlier than Foundations and I'm thankful she's chosen to use that time to serve others.
