Washington, DC - Capitol #26*

Making it to your congressman's office, and the US Capitol, was a definite highlight of the DC trip!
Yay Ed Royce! So pleased that this man, who has been my congressman since I could vote, was reelected last week.

Just below the pink marble on the stand that this statue of Ronald Reagan is on, is a thin slab from the Berlin wall.
The old Supreme Court
No photos allowed in the Senate or the House. In fact, you had to check your phone at the door and they kept in a little bucket until you came back to get it. Bummer!
In the Senate, we watched someone introduced a bill to an empty room, but C-SPAN was watching.
In the house, we got to watch them take a vote. Of all the capitals we've been to, this was the first one that was in session while we were visiting. Really cool to see our legislative branch at work!

We headed back to the congressman's office where we had left most of our bags while we toured the capital. And off into the night we went.
