Gettysburg & Eisenhower Farm

Our car thermometer was alternating between the temperature of 37° and the word "ice". This may not have been the perfect day to tackle Gettysburg.
Nevertheless, we did. Gettysburg really deserves more time than we gave it and would be a great place to walk more. But ultimately, because they have a 24-mile auto tour, much of it does have to be done by car.
This Pennsylvania monument was one of my favorites. I enjoyed climbing up inside and the views it afforded of the various areas where men were set up. It helped me sort out where events took place.
There are so many monuments erected here!

oh! And to speak to Gettysburg address where President Lincoln originally delivered it was amazing. (Yesterday was actually the anniversary.)

Alas, we were happiest in the warmth of the car.
Adjacent to Gettysburg is the Eisenhower farm.
President Eisenhower and his wife lived here before, sometimes during, and after his presidency.
There are beautiful views from the front, and inside. Their grandchildren referred to the front room as a museum.
But the rest of the house was very practically laid out and decorated.

Is this the dinner bell?
Apparently, the PGA put in the small putting green for the president out of thankfulness for his promoting the sport.  And there was a skeet range off a little ways. We got the feeling that President Eisenhower was a pretty fun guy.
