Annapolis, MD - Capitol #25

Can I just say... Woohoo! We're over 1/2 way to our goal!
(48 state capitols + D.C.)
We woke up in Maryland, picked up some brochures at the visitor center, and headed down the highway.
We had to cross the Chesapeake Bay on the bay bridge.
Annapolis streets are not designed for RVs, so we had to park at the Navy stadium.
The Maryland state house has old and new in the same building.

This is the old hallway, the old entry to the Senate,
In the old Senate chamber. It was in this room after the American Revolutionary War, George Washington resigned his Commission, after leading our army for eight years. This was very unique because never before in history had a victorious general surrendered their power and authority to a civilian government.
The old house of delegates:

This is a new stairway, the new Senate chamber,

and the new house, both with beautiful Tiffany stained-glass roofs.
Since we are in Annapolis, and were reminded of the Naval Academy when we had to park at their stadium, we decided to visit.
We enjoyed the visitor center and learned a lot about the Naval Academy. At the information desk, the gentleman asked me if we were here for the briefing. I indicated that I did not understand what he was talking about, and he turned to Jo and asked, "Are you thinking about applying to this school and joining the Navy?" Jo replied yes and the man told us we better get upstairs because the briefing was starting in two minutes. We would be told all about the admissions process in the school. So we went. It was very informative and should any of my children desire to apply, I feel adequately briefed.
Our final destination for the day, where we will be staying for the next week, was Virginia. We are so excited to be participating in a Generation Joshua student action team. This means that we will be learning about the political process first hand by participating in and actively supporting a local campaign. Logistically, this also means that we will be staying in a hotel… oh! the spacious rooms!
