American History Smithsonian - 11/12-13

For a couple days, we made short trips into DC because Kaia was sick and we left her home to sleep.
So, it took us two days to do the American History Smithsonian.
Three days after the election, this exhibit in the entry hallway felt a little provocative.
The kids wanted to take a picture with the first computer mom had growing up.
This is not an exhibit. This was people stopping because they were so confused over the fact that there was a women's bathroom and a family bathroom. The family right behind me was having a discussion about whether or not the dad could take the son into the family bathroom. Mom volunteered to take him. The dad refused and ended up going to a different floor to find a bathroom that was designated "men".
Our favorite exhibit by far was this Americans at War exhibit. It started with the revolutionary war and went all the way through modern times. It was really well done. So well done, I didn't take any pictures because I was enjoying the exhibit.
Imagine if this was what they used to encourage us to carpool today!
Another voting exhibit, still too fresh in this multicultural city!
Again, we did this museum over two days and after leaving the second day we visited the FDR Memorial. Had quite a bit of FDR training having found exhibits or memorials for him in several states now.
