The Thistles & St Louis! - 5/29

We woke up in Metropolis, IL - Superman's home!
This was like dejavu. We saw this huge cross before, but we've never been here! (This was confirmed by friends minutes later who said they, too, saw the exact same one previously - maybe in Texas.)
Anyhow... FRIENDS!
The Thistle family is driving from SoCal to New York and since we were going to pass one another on the 70, we stopped to have lunch together.
All you can eat pizza buffet - perfect for all the teenage boys. All you can eat salad - perfect for all the adults.
Our cute trailers side by side. (:
So thankful for MariJo! Love her so!
They continued east and we continued west. And then we realized a boy (to remain nameless) had tossed dear Ky's new stuffed horse in the back of their truck. So 5 minutes later we actually parted ways and a few hours later, we saw this...
The Gateway Arch, aka the Jefferson Expansion Memorial, meaning - a way to remember the Louisiana Purchase.

Right on the edge of the Mississippi, this is the gateway to the west.
And Ky found a horse to love. (:
Underground
they had a movie showing about how they built the arch. I'm usually not afraid of heights, but this movie made me a bit fearful.
