Yellowstone - Norris Junction & BISON!

We continued our journey north toward Norris Junction. We stopped at Gibbon Falls, a waterfall. When we got to Norris Junction, The museum we wanted to see had just closed. But when we parked in their parking lot, we saw some bison on the meadow, so we stopped to watch them.

We decided it would be a good time for dinner and got out the camping stove and food that we had brought along "just in case" we were out until dinner time.
While we were cooking the bison came much closer, much, much closer. So close in fact, they were only about 12 feet away. By that time, we had told all the children to get in the car and had tried to gather up the dinner we had been cooking at the tailgate of the car. We got most of the food and waited in the car for the bison to pass, which only took a short bit. Then we served up the food and decided to eat in the car while a second bison came by. It was a beautiful show with our dinner.

Rare opportunity! We saw a moose!
