Seattle - Pike Place and surrounding downtown sights

Pike Place Market - where we had delicious baked treats (:

Weird guy sleeping (in background - I needed sy to pose so I could get a photo of the guy) with Starbucks bag
Federal building, site of start of Seattle fire of 1889, well guarded (I was approached by 3 guards when I just opened the door to ask about the history of the building), one of many older structures heated by steam
Fixing a steam pipe that is a temporary fix to a leak. This one was throwing steam out very near passerbyers' heads. The foreman explained to us that they have over 20 miles of steam pipes that privide heat and hot water to many older local buildings. The hospital even uses the steam to sterilize instruments.
A short diversion from the Seattle touristy things... the game was on so we stopped in for the last 20 minutes.
6 Grubbs in a pub for the game, they weren't too busy so they accommodated - even with the children

Beautiful architecture

Each elevator has an elevator man (or woman) who operates the elevators, which all had doors the opened manually
Notice there are only 35 floors, even though the building is "42 stories"
And they had a 13th floor
