Herbert Hoover National Historic Site - 9/7

President Hoover came from a tiny town in Iowa, was orphaned as a child, and  was separated from his siblings and shipped to Oregon to stay with family. He decided to restore his own birthplace to show his humble beginnings to encourage others that in the USA, even those of lowly birth and difficult circumstances can become president.
I failed to take photos because it was pouring rain as we moved from structure to structure in the small "town".
We finally took refuge in the little church to wait out the downpour and a ranger came looking for us out of concern. (:
So although you can't tell, we did spend 4 hours here and it was really informative and enjoyable.
The sun came out about 5pm, so we got this picture real quick after they closed.

Onward...
To Illinois!
