Service, Civil Rights & Science

This morning we had the opportunity to serve at Scott's parents' church. Each month they host a mobile food pantry where cars pull in to their lot and receive food. Dad, Scott and Jo worked out in the food line. Kik & Ky worked in the church lobby manning a coffee & goodies table as well as cheerfully welcoming people and helping the with anything they needed. Mom and I switched off being inside with the k's and outside (where it was 36°)!

All of these cars were lined up to receive food and once we were all set up, all of them were served in less than one hour!
This huge truck pulled in and unloaded pallets of food which we divided into family-sized portions for distribution.

Ky is now well versed in making mass amounts of coffee. We also had the opportunity to pray with those who desired prayer and encourage anyone who came inside.

Civil rights will have to have its own post because I have much to say about visiting the MLKjrNHS. (: so for now we will move on to SCIENCE.

The Fernbank Science Center is a small educational facility that focuses on Georgia ecosystems,
Georgia
wildlife,
Georgia's geology,
meteors found in Georgia and
scientific contributions of Georgians. We always get the history of the places we visit, but we don't get nearly as much science. Not so here!
